Does Sideby really work without internet?
Yes. Download your languages and the speech model once on Wi-Fi. After that, recognition and translation run on your phone, even in airplane mode. For the spoken translations, install your phone's offline voice data: Sideby shows you how.
Which languages are supported?
English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese and Korean, in any combination.
How does the free trial work?
You get 2 days from the first launch with everything unlocked. No card is needed and nothing is charged automatically. After that, choose Standard or Pro.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In Google Play, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Sideby, Cancel. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Are my conversations recorded or sent anywhere?
No. Sideby has no servers: speech recognition and translation run on your phone. History is saved only on your phone, and you can turn it off or delete it at any time.
How much storage does it need?
About 30 MB per language. The recommended speech model takes about 880 MB; a lighter one of 160 MB is available for phones with less space.
Is Sideby available on iPhone?
Not yet. Sideby is available on Android through Google Play.
